Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has declared that the South-East, particularly Ebonyi State, will vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Umahi, a former governor of Ebonyi State, made the statement on Saturday during the Ohanivo 2025 New Yam Festivalin Onicha LGA.
According to him, there is “no space for the Peter Obi-led Obidient Movement” in Ebonyi, stressing that the region has suffered long-standing marginalization and will not be “deceived again.”
“We are not Obidient people. We have been so marginalized that we are no longer Obidient. But it is the man that has given us a sense of belonging, President Bola Tinubu. There is no Obidient person in Ebonyi State,” Umahi said.
The minister added that the South-East will reciprocate Tinubu’s good deeds by supporting him in 2027, insisting the last election was “a mistake” that the region has now learned from.
