Paris Fashion Week 2025 ended on an unforgettable note as the world witnessed a celebration of African creativity, culture, and couture. South Africa took center stage as two of its most iconic fashion houses, Maxhosa Africa and Imprint ZA, showcased breathtaking collections that blended heritage with high fashion.
Maxhosa Africa, led by designer Laduma Ngxokolo, unveiled its latest collection titled Izipho Zabadala — meaning “Gifts for the Ancestors.” The showcase paid homage to African roots, weaving together vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and cultural symbolism that have become the brand’s signature.
The show reached a magical crescendo when legendary South African musician Yvonne Chaka Chaka graced the runway, embodying elegance and strength. Adding even more soul to the moment, Zawadi YaMungu performed live, creating a fusion of fashion and music that celebrated the spirit of African artistry.
At the Tranoï Paris Fashion Week SS26, Imprint ZA made another powerful statement with its latest collection, Silapha Nje Kungemithandazo: Chapter 2. Known for its daring prints and storytelling through fabric, the brand once again proved that African fashion belongs on the world’s most prestigious stages.
Among the stars who turned heads in Paris were Pearl Thusi, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni, and Laduma Ngxokolo himself — each representing the pride and sophistication of modern South African style.
With their bold designs and cultural authenticity, Maxhosa Africa and Imprint ZA reaffirmed Africa’s place at the heart of global fashion — powerful, unapologetic, and timelessly beautiful.
