Nollywood actress Georgina Onuoha has criticized businessman and senator Ned Nwoko over his public statement addressing his marital crisis with actress Regina Daniels.
Recall that a viral video recently showed Regina Daniels in distress as her brother confronted men allegedly sent by her husband.
Following the incident, Ned Nwoko released a statement blaming his wife’s alleged “drug and alcohol abuse” for the chaos in their home, claiming she assaulted domestic staff and destroyed property.
Reacting via her Instagram page, Georgina condemned the lawmaker’s decision to issue such a public statement, accusing him of humiliating the mother of his children rather than offering support.
She described Nwoko’s response as “deeply insensitive,” saying it raised serious concerns about his judgment, motives, and role as a public official.
“It is deeply distressing to witness the recent videos circulating on social media in which actress Regina Daniels appears to allege domestic violence at the hands of her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko,” she began.
“What is even more troubling is that within less than twenty-four hours of these claims emerging, Senator Nwoko publicly released a statement portraying his wife, the mother of his children, as a drug addict.”
Georgina questioned why a man of Nwoko’s age and influence would publicly shame his wife instead of protecting her, adding that such actions suggest a lack of compassion and emotional maturity.
She also accused him of trying to discredit Regina’s domestic violence claims and manipulate public perception, saying such tactics are common among powerful men dealing with younger, less empowered women.
“Even if one were to accept the senator’s narrative, what responsible man or husband publicly shames the mother of his children, knowing she is a public figure, and that their children will one day read and see everything said about her? Such an act does not reflect love, care, or leadership; it reflects ego and self-preservation,” she wrote.
Georgina concluded by urging the public to approach the situation with empathy and to recognize the imbalance of power between the couple, noting that Regina entered Nwoko’s home as a teenager and deserved better support, not public humiliation.
