Skims co-founder and reality TV star Kim Kardashian turned heads over the weekend as she attended the 2025 Academy Museum Gala in a daring fashion statement that left fans divided.
The 44-year-old media mogul arrived at the star-studded event wearing a nude-colored, face-obscuring mask paired with a strapless, corseted Maison Margiela gown featuring draped sleeves that extended to the hem.
In a behind-the-scenes video shared by her makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, Kardashian was seen joking about her mysterious look while getting the “final touches” done.
“Mario, do I look OK? The make-up?” Kim asked playfully.
Dedivanovic responded, “Your make-up looks amazing, yes.”
Kim quipped back, “It’s good? All that hard work, guys.”
Despite the humor, not all fans were impressed. Many took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize the look, calling it “attention-seeking” and “a fashion miss.”
“I KNOW NORTH never approved this!!” one fan wrote.
“Nothing to look at here….She completely missed the assignment,” another user added.
A third user commented, “She tries so hard to be relevant in fashion but her looks are always misses.”
Some social media users even compared the outfit to her ex-husband Kanye West’s signature style.
“You can still see the Kanye in her,” one tweet read.
Another added, “She misses Kanye I see… Because this is ridiculous.”
While the bold look stirred controversy online, it certainly achieved what Kardashian does best — keeping everyone talking.
