Rita Daniels, the mother of popular Nollywood actress and billionaire politician’s wife, Regina Daniels, has finally addressed her daughter’s controversial marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko.
In a viral video making rounds on social media, the veteran actress revealed that she never supported Regina’s decision to marry a man nearly four decades older than her.
According to Rita, when Regina, then just 18 years old, decided to marry the 60-year-old politician, she was completely unaware of their relationship until it had already progressed.
“When Regina got married and the whole world blamed me, saying I forced her to marry a much older man or sold her to an elderly man… what they didn’t know is that even I didn’t know when they started their relationship,” Rita stated.
She went on to reveal that she was the last person to discover the relationship between her daughter and Ned Nwoko. Upon confronting Regina, Rita said she was shocked by her daughter’s reaction, as Regina spoke to her harshly for the first time.
Despite her initial disapproval, Rita explained that she later chose to stand by her daughter as a mother, offering guidance and emotional support through her marital journey.
“As a mother, I had no choice but to stand by her and give her the best advice I could,” she added.
Regina Daniels, who tied the knot with Ned Nwoko in 2019, has since welcomed two sons with the politician. The actress, now 25, continues to balance her roles as a mother, wife, and film star while serving as a strong presence in her husband’s political and philanthropic endeavors.
