NDLEA Arraigns Pretty Mike Over Alleged Drug Possession and Club Forfeiture

Controversial Lagos socialite, Mike Nwalie, popularly known as Pretty Mike, was on Thursday arraigned before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, following his arrest during a major NDLEA nightclub raid.

The socialite was among over 100 individuals arrested on October 26 when operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) stormed his nightclub, Proxy Lagos, in what officials described as part of an ongoing clampdown on drug-related activities in entertainment spots across the city.

Following the raid, the court ordered the temporary forfeiture of Proxy Lagos over allegations that it was used for drug storage and distribution.

During the forfeiture motion, NDLEA counsel Buhari Abdullahi described the club as an “instrumentality of crime,” urging the court to suspend all operations at the venue pending the conclusion of investigations.

According to court filings, NDLEA alleged that the nightclub contained 169 cylinders (384.662kg) of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, along with 200 grams of cannabis sativa.

Pretty Mike and the club’s manager were arraigned before Justice Ambrose Alagoa on a three-count charge of:

  1. Conspiracy,

  2. Illegal possession of controlled substances, and

  3. Knowingly allowing the use of the premises for drug-related activities.

They both pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of ₦50 million each, with two responsible sureties in like sum.

The court adjourned the main trial to January 14, 2026, while the hearing on the interim forfeiture and suspension of the nightclub’s activities was scheduled for January 28, 2026.

The case continues to attract significant public interest, given Pretty Mike’s history of controversy and his prominence in Lagos nightlife.
