Kanye West apologises to rabbi for hateful remarks

Kanye West

Kanye West has spoken out about his past hateful comments toward the Jewish community, saying he wants to “take accountability” for his actions.

In a video shared on the Instagram page of Rabbi Yoshiayao Yosef Pinto, Kanye West appears expressing remorse before embracing the Rabbi in a moment of reconciliation.

Once celebrated as a leading voice in the rap industry,Kanye West’s reputation took a major hit following a series of offensive remarks over the years — including his disturbing praise of Adolf Hitler during a 2022 interview.

“I feel really blessed to be able to sit here with you today and just take accountability,” Ye says in the clip.

He went on to open up about his mental health challenges, explaining how his bipolar disorder played a role in his past behavior.

“I was dealing with some various issues, dealing with bipolar also. So it would take the ideas I had and have me take them to the extreme where I would forget about the protection of the people around me and/or myself.”

Kanye West continued by stressing the importance of making amends.

“It’s a big deal for me as a man to come and take accountability for all the things that I’ve said, and I really just appreciate you embracing me with open arms and allowing me to make amends. This is the beginning and the first steps and the first brick-by-brick to build back the strong walls.”

The rapper’s remarks follow the release of a recent documentary exploring his experiences with bipolar disorder. Meanwhile, fans are eagerly anticipating his upcoming solo project — his first since 2021’s Donda — which is expected to drop before the end of the year.
