Bellingham and Foden Return as Tuchel Names England Squad for Serbia and Albania Qualifiers

Bellingham rescues England with last-gasp equalizer against Belgium

Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden have been recalled to the England squad by manager Thomas Tuchel ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania.

England, who already secured qualification for next year’s World Cup with two games to spare, will wrap up their Group K campaign with a home clash against Serbia at Wembley next Thursday, followed by an away trip to Albania three days later.

Real Madrid star Bellingham, 22, returns after missing October’s fixtures while recovering from shoulder surgery, while Foden makes his first appearance since Tuchel’s debut camp in March.

One of the standout names in the 25-man squad is Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, who earns his first senior call-up. Nico O’Reilly and Jarell Quansah are the other uncapped players included.

There are also recalls for Adam Wharton and Nick Pope, while Morgan Gibbs-White, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Myles Lewis-Skelly, James Trafford, and Ollie Watkins have been dropped.

Notably, Jack Grealish, currently on loan at Everton from Manchester City, was not recalled, and Trent Alexander-Arnold also misses out due to fitness concerns.

England confirmed their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States last month after a convincing 5–0 victory over Latvia in Riga.
