Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 housemate and ex-Miss Nigeria, Beauty Tukura, has opened up about the emotional breakdown she suffered after being disqualified from the reality TV show.
Speaking during an interview on the Beyond With Ezinne podcast, Beauty revealed that the intense backlash from the public pushed her into depression, leaving her mentally and emotionally drained.
“The heat was too much, and personally, I felt like nothing I said was going to make sense because all they wanted to do was crucify me like Jesus. It was very hard,” she shared.
The Taraba-born lawyer admitted that she was too ashamed to face her parents after the incident.
“I was too ashamed to see them. I didn’t know how to face them. I was in a very bad place,” she said.
Despite her struggles, Beauty said her parents’ unwavering love and support helped her through her darkest moments.
“I cried every day. I was thinking of ending it. I almost actually committed suicide,” she confessed. “I decided to focus on the love. Since then, I’ve always focused on the positive messages.”
Reflecting on the experience, Beauty described it as a major turning point in her life.
“That was the lowest point of my life, and I’ve decided it will stay that way. There’s no room for such mistakes anymore,” she said.
Beauty Tukura was disqualified from the Level Up edition of BBNaija in August 2022 after receiving two strikes for violent behaviour towards fellow housemates Ilebaye and Groovy.
