Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi Ayanwale, has reacted emotionally to her mother’s viral allegations, questioning why the complaints only began after she became famous.
Imisi’s mother recently released videos accusing her daughter of neglecting her despite winning N150 million. She also displayed the rundown house she lives in and declared that she would “never beg” Imisi for financial support.
However, in her online response, Imisi insisted that her mother was never present in her life before fame and would sometimes go for one or two years without reaching out.
“Before I won BBNaija, I was living my life and you would not even call me in one or two years, so why is there a problem now?” she said.
The reality star added that she has always supported her mother financially despite their strained relationship.
“God knows I have tried. I still sent you money last week and four days ago. Will I kill myself?” she stated.
Imisi also stressed that she cannot take “N1 out of the money” she won to satisfy anyone’s expectations, explaining that she now has “100 people in the family looking up to me alone.”
She further expressed shock over her mother’s public outburst, noting that the narrative circulating online does not reflect the true situation. According to her, the sudden drama is particularly hurtful because her mother was absent during the most difficult phases of her life.
The unfolding family dispute has triggered mixed reactions on social media, with many Nigerians calling for the issue to be resolved privately to protect both parties from further public scrutiny.
