Nigerian singer Aituaje Iruobe, popularly known as Waje, has announced that she is officially engaged.
The 45-year-old music star revealed the news during a recent interview with Hip TV Lagos, saying simply: “I am actually engaged,” without offering further details about her fiancé.
While the identity of her partner remains undisclosed, Waje had previously stated that she is unwilling to marry an “unsuccessful man,” noting that her age no longer permits her to wait for a partner who is still trying to “find his footing.”
Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, the award-winning vocalist also opened up about her past, recounting how the father of her daughter denied the pregnancy and abandoned her when she was a teenager.
She revealed that although he later returned to apologize, he still refused to take responsibility for their child—even after demanding a DNA test, which she agreed to, but he never showed up for.
