Woman Drops Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against UFC Star Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor announces his return to the UFC

A U.S. woman who accused Conor McGregor of sexually assaulting her during an NBA game has voluntarily withdrawn her lawsuit against the Irish MMA star.

McGregor, 37, one of the UFC’s biggest global figures, had consistently denied the allegations of sexual batterystemming from an incident said to have occurred after Game 4 of the 2023 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets.

According to Mail Online, the woman — described in the original filing as a 49-year-old Wall Street executive — formally filed a notice of voluntary dismissal in a Florida court on Tuesday.

He attended the game as part of a promotional campaign for a pain-relief spray brand. The initial lawsuit claimed that after meeting in the VIP section, an associate of McGregor escorted the woman to a men’s restroom, where the alleged incident took place inside a stall.

The reasons for the lawsuit’s sudden withdrawal were not immediately disclosed.

This development comes as McGregor continues to deal with other legal challenges. In Ireland last year, he was found liable in a separate sexual assault case and ordered to pay approximately $250,000 in damages to a woman who accused him of rape.

Meanwhile, McGregor is currently serving an 18-month suspension for missing three drug tests within a 12-month period. The sanction, backdated to September 2024, clears him to return to competition by March next year.

His comeback could coincide with a planned UFC event at the White House on June 14, scheduled to mark U.S. President Donald Trump’s birthday, potentially positioning McGregor for a headline fight.
