Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, is fiercely pushing back against Netflix after the release of Sean Combs: The Reckoning, describing the docuseries as a damaging and inaccurate portrayal of her and her embattled son.
The 80-year-old matriarch—who was present throughout much of her son’s high-profile federal trial—accused the producers of leaning into sensationalism and distorting key moments from Diddy’s past. She specifically rejected claims in the documentary that suggest her son ever acted violently toward her, calling the narrative “constructed for intrigue, not truth.”
In a lengthy statement, Janice said the project misrepresents her parenting, maligns her family, and relies on contributors whose motives she questioned. She demanded that Netflix retract what she called harmful fabrications.
Her full statement included strong denials of allegations made by former associates Tim Patterson and Kirk Burrows, insisting that she raised Diddy with “love and hard work,” not abuse, and that claims of him slapping her after the tragic 1991 City College incident were “patently false.”
Janice also emphasized her son’s lifelong dedication to her well-being, describing him as a “dutiful son” who has always ensured she was cared for financially and medically.
She concluded by calling for public corrections to what she termed “distortions, falsehoods, and misleading statements.”
As of now, Netflix has not responded to her remarks.
