Lizzo Vows to Fight Remaining Claims as Court Dismisses Key Lawsuit Allegations

Lizzo

Lizzo has spoken out after a major portion of the lawsuit filed against her by former dancers was dismissed, making it clear she plans to challenge all remaining claims until the case is fully resolved.

In a silent Instagram video shared on Monday, December 15, the singer addressed the development through on-screen text, stating that the fat-shaming allegations at the center of the sexual harassment lawsuit were thrown out for lack of merit. The suit was filed by Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez and Crystal Williams.

According to Lizzo, the court dismissed the fat-shaming claims after finding no evidence that any dancer was fired due to weight gain. She explained that the dancers were instead dismissed for secretly recording her without consent and allegedly sharing the footage with former employees.

The Grammy-winning artiste said the accusations have weighed heavily on her since they emerged in 2023, stressing that her career has consistently promoted body positivity and self-acceptance. She added that she remains confident in her legal team and believes the court’s decision shows the case is moving in the right direction, expressing hope that the remaining allegations will be resolved similarly.

Last week, Lizzo’s lawyer, Marty Singer, alongside his partner Melissa Y. Glass, revealed that the dismissed claims were weakened by sworn statements from 18 witnesses. They noted that the strength of the evidence led the former dancers to drop their appeal on the fat-shaming allegations.
