Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has explained why she deliberately avoids certain public events, saying discernment and prayer guide her decisions rather than popularity or financial incentives.
The actress shared her views in an Instagram post, noting that not every invitation is extended with good intentions. According to her, personal safety and spiritual awareness are more important than making public appearances.
“Not all invitations you should go. Some are plotting to kill or destroy you, that’s why as a human being you need to pray for deliverance so God can show you who y’all are dealing with.
Most of you, why I don’t attend some of your events is deep down y’all don’t like me, but you want me in your events because I am the life of the party,” she wrote.
Angela further stressed that no amount of money could persuade her to attend an event if she feels uneasy about it, adding that peace of mind and safety always come first.
Angela Okorie began her acting career in 2009 after working as a model and has since featured in over 100 Nollywood films. She won the City People Entertainment Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2015.
In recent years, the actress has also spoken openly about her health following a shooting incident in 2019. She has revealed that doctors continue to monitor her condition through regular medical checks.
