Concerns are mounting over the condition of British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua following a car accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Monday, with reports suggesting his injuries may be more serious than first believed.
Joshua was reportedly pulled alive from a badly damaged SUV after the crash. However, tragedy struck as two of his close friends who were travelling with him lost their lives in the incident.
The accident has now cast uncertainty over Anthony Joshua’s highly anticipated £100 million mega-fight with Tyson Fury scheduled for next year.
According to the Daily Mail, the former heavyweight champion may have sustained injuries more severe than those initially disclosed to the public.
There are growing fears that the 36-year-old boxer could be dealing with knee and rib injuries, which may require further medical attention.
Videos circulating on social media have shown Anthony Joshua visibly in pain as he was assisted out of the wrecked vehicle, further fuelling concerns about the extent of his injuries and his readiness to return to the ring.
