Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has responded sharply to a social media user who criticised her for riding in a pickup truck during a recent public appearance.
The backlash followed a viral video showing the award-winning singer, dressed in an elegant black outfit, seated at the back of a pickup truck, waving to cheering crowds during a festive parade.
Reacting to the clip, a displeased follower commented, “Omo Tiwa downgrading herself,” suggesting the singer had lowered her status by opting for the vehicle.
Tiwa, however, wasted no time in clapping back at the criticism. In a blunt response shared online, the mother of one dismissed the remark and reaffirmed her financial status.
“Mumu said downgrade… I went from a pickup truck to a Gulfstream. Una no get respect for your elders. I get money pass your papa,” she wrote.
Her response has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many fans applauding her confidence while others debated celebrity expectations and public perception.
