Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has made history by becoming the first musician to sell out the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Theatre, Lagos.
The milestone was achieved on Friday, December 26, 2025, when the singer sold out the 3,560-capacity venue for his headline concert.
On Thursday, January 1, 2026, Adekunle Gold was presented with two plaques in recognition of the feat — one for being the first artiste to headline and sell out the iconic theatre, and another awarded to the management and record label that organised the concert.
The show featured performances from Olamide alongside Adekunle Gold, and was attended by notable stars including Yinka Ayefele and Adewale Ayuba.
Taking to his Instagram page to celebrate the achievement, Adekunle Gold expressed gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support.
“Thank you all for a great end to 2025. Where should I bring the Fuji experience to?” he wrote.
Several Nigerian celebrities, including Davido, Brother Shaggy, Timi Agbaje, Obaksolo and BBNaija’s Imisi, also took to his comment section to congratulate him on the landmark achievement.
