Brit Eady has officially brought her marriage to an end. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star has filed for divorce from her husband, Michael Cunningham, formally closing the chapter on their five-year union.
Court records show that the insurance broker filed the divorce papers at an Atlanta court earlier this week, weeks after she publicly announced their separation on social media. In the filing, Brit Eady listed December 1 as the official date of separation, placing the legal move shortly after her now-deleted Instagram post that revealed the breakup.
According to the documents, Eady stated that the marriage is irretrievably broken. She is also requesting that no spousal support or alimony be awarded to either party.
On the issue of shared assets, the filing suggests a relatively straightforward split. The only jointly owned property listed is their Fulton County home, which both parties have reportedly agreed to sell and split the proceeds equally. Each party is also seeking to retain ownership of their respective vehicles acquired during the marriage.
The filing further includes a request to have the case sealed, citing both parties’ public profiles as reality television figures. This detail has drawn some attention, given that Brit Eady’s time on Real Housewives of Atlanta lasted just one season. She previously made headlines after filing a $20 million lawsuit against Bravo, the network behind the show, following her decision to skip the reunion.
With the legal process now underway, Brit Eady appears set to move forward from the marriage with a clean break.
