Peter Obi Is the Only “Life” in ADC, PDP Is Dead — Fayose Declares

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has described Peter Obi as the sole political force keeping the African Democratic Congress (ADC) relevant, insisting that the party would be largely insignificant without him.

Fayose made the remarks on Friday during an interview on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme monitored by DAILY POST. According to him, Obi’s political weight alone gives the ADC visibility, while other members of the party lack real influence.

“Obi is the only life in ADC; all other people in ADC are semi-existent,” Fayose said. “If Obi had gone to remain in Labour Party or has gone to Accord Party, he is the only life there. All the other people there, they are not existing. They are old-forces.”

The former governor also took a swipe at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that the party is effectively finished. He said the PDP is “technically no more” and should be considered dead.

Fayose further cautioned against linking Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to the internal problems facing the PDP, arguing that Makinde should not be blamed for the party’s current struggles.

Speaking on his own political stance, Fayose reiterated his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, noting that he never concealed his position.

“Openly, I supported Tinubu in 2023. I didn’t hide it. Till now I’m still there. I don’t jump,” he said. “I have said it to you I’m not a member of APC and I will never be.”

Fayose’s comments have once again stirred debate around party strength, political relevance, and the shifting dynamics ahead of future elections.
