Kevin Gates has taken to social media to publicly challenge his ex-wife, Dreka Gates, urging her to be honest about the true nature of their relationship and family dynamics.
In a video shared on Instagram, the Really Really rapper addressed accusations surrounding his role as a father, firmly denying claims that he abandoned his responsibilities to their two children. He also accused Dreka and her family of financially exploiting him during their time together.
In the clip, Kevin Gates directly addressed his former partner, stating, “Aye Drek, I challenge you to tell people that we had an Islamic marriage,” before going further to outline his version of events. He added, “I challenge you to tell people that my children lived with me for the past two years. I challenge you to tell people that you didn’t file for divorce, or whatever you call divorce, until I stopped giving you money because you and your family had been stealing from me the whole time.”
The rapper also alleged that Dreka took money from him to fund a cannabis dispensary venture, which has since shut down.
Kevin Gates and Dreka Gates officially ended their marriage last year, bringing a close to a decade-long union. However, the public dispute did not end there. In another pointed remark, Gates said, “I take care of my children and I was still taking care of you while you were with that n**ga,” referencing alleged infidelity rumors that Dreka has previously denied.
On her part, Dreka, who runs a 43-acre farm in Mississippi, filed legal documents in October seeking $46,274 (£34,570) in monthly spousal support and $27,193 (£20,315) per month in child support. In the filing, she accused Gates of failing to meet his financial obligations.
The former couple’s relationship dates back to their teenage years around 2003. They welcomed their children in 2012 and 2014, tied the knot in 2015, and remained together for over two decades. Dreka eventually filed for divorce in July 2025, citing irreconcilable differences.
