Popular Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, has issued a cease and desist letter to social media critic VeryDarkMan, ordering him to stop using the name “Ratel.”
Blord disclosed the move in a post shared on his Instagram page, revealing that he has officially trademarked “Ratel” as his business brand name. According to him, any further use of the name by VeryDarkMan would require his express permission.
In a public statement posted on his Instagram story, Blord said he had instructed his legal team to take action against the activist. He wrote, “I have directed my SAN to issue a cease and desist to VDM to stop using my brand name ‘Ratel’. He will have to get an approval from me henceforth before using that name Ratel.”
The announcement has generated widespread reactions across social media platforms, with users expressing mixed opinions on the development.
The latest move comes amid an ongoing feud between both public figures. The dispute reportedly began in October 2025, when VeryDarkMan travelled to China to assist Nigerian entrepreneurs in sourcing affordable goods and supplier connections.
During the trip, VeryDarkMan accused Blord of engaging in business fraud and inflating prices of modified gadgets. The disagreement later escalated after he allegedly petitioned the police to investigate Blord’s business practices.
“Ratel” is the name VeryDarkMan popularly uses to identify his loyal online supporters, a factor that has further fueled public debate surrounding the trademark dispute.
