“You don’t know what you have done” – Eddie Bliss Apologises to Mercy Johnson After Defamation Case Is Withdrawn

Eddie Bliss Apologises to Mercy Johnson

Content creator Eddie Bliss has issued a public apology to Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson and her family following the withdrawal of a defamation complaint that led to her arrest and brief detention.

The apology came shortly after Mercy Johnson dropped the police case, a decision that paved the way for Eddie Bliss’ release from custody.

In a video shared on Tuesday, Eddie Bliss admitted that she reposted unverified information from an online blog, acknowledging that her actions caused harm to the actress and her family.

“I came across a post from a blog online called Cutie Julls and I picked the post and posted it on my page without verifying the information, and apparently that particular video caused a lot of harm and hurt to the family of Mr and Mrs Okojie,” she said.

“I am sincerely sorry for whatever damage I must have caused the family. I also want to say thank you very much ma for dropping the charges against me. You don’t know what you have done for my family and I.”

The arrest triggered widespread reactions on social media, with many appealing to Mercy Johnson to show leniency. Some also noted that the content creator was preparing for her wedding and pleaded for her release.

After Eddie Bliss regained her freedom, Mercy Johnson explained that she withdrew the case out of respect for people who reached out to her and her husband. However, she stressed that false allegations against her family would not be tolerated in the future.
