“Without money, most men lack what it takes to lead a woman” — Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo

Popular relationship counselor and pastor, Kingsley Okonkwo, has stirred conversation online after stating that many men lack what it truly takes to be good leaders.

The cleric made the remarks in a post shared on X, where he argued that once money is removed from the equation, a large number of men do not possess the spiritual, emotional, mental, and moral capacity required to genuinely lead a woman.

According to Okonkwo, this is why many men cling to the belief that a man’s primary role in a relationship is financial provision.

“If you remove money most men don’t have what it takes to lead a woman, that’s why most men want to hold on to the idea that a man’s main role is ‘providing’,” he wrote.

He further noted that beyond finances, many men lack the necessary inner qualities needed for leadership in modern relationships, adding that even the financial capacity many claim to rely on is often absent.

“Outside money most men don’t have the spiritual, emotional mental, morale capacity to lead a woman in today’s world, and even the money the men don’t even have it,” he stated.

Okonkwo also criticised what he described as outdated mindsets among men, saying many are still operating with beliefs formed in an era when women were largely uneducated and financially dependent.

“A lot of men today are carrying an outdated syllabus and archaic mindset that was developed when women weren’t educated or didn’t work. Being the head today is no more about paying rent and paying school fees, you must be a quality man,” he added.

The comments have since sparked mixed reactions across social media, with users debating modern definitions of leadership, masculinity, and partnership.
