Yaya Mayweather, the mother of NBA YoungBoy’s five-year-old son, Kentrell Jr., has shut down viral claims suggesting she paid the rapper $1.2 million to spend time with her during a difficult period in their relationship.
The rumour, which circulated widely on social media and was highlighted by The Shade Room, alleged that Mayweather paid YoungBoy to hang out with her for a week when they were not on good terms. Reacting strongly, the daughter of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather took to Twitter to debunk the claim.
“I’ve never paid my bd $1.2m to hang out with him for a week when we weren’t on good terms,” she wrote, dismissing the story as false and offensive. Mayweather stressed that NBA YoungBoy is wealthy in his own right and would never accept money from her, adding that such rumours were part of the reason he avoids even accepting gifts from her.
She also threatened legal action against accounts spreading what she described as “fake narratives,” warning that she may begin suing people for lying about her.
So far, NBA YoungBoy has not publicly responded to the controversy, and it remains unclear whether he will address the claims or allow the situation to fade.
The rapper and Mayweather have had a turbulent relationship since around 2019, marked by public disputes and ongoing co-parenting tensions following the birth of their son in 2021. Over the years, both have faced scrutiny from fans, with opinions divided between criticism and sympathy for Mayweather’s situation.
For now, fans are watching to see whether the former couple can move toward a more peaceful co-parenting arrangement — and away from recurring online gossip.
