Manchester United dealt a major blow to Arsenal’s Premier League title ambitions after edging the leaders 3–2 in a thrilling contest at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Arsenal struck first after Lisandro Martinez inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, putting the hosts ahead and appearing to set them on course to strengthen their grip at the top of the table.
United responded before the break through Bryan Mbeumo, who restored parity with a composed finish to ensure the sides went into half-time level.
The visitors then took the lead shortly after the restart when Patrick Dorgu unleashed a stunning strike, swinging momentum firmly in Manchester United’s favour.
Arsenal pushed hard for a response and were rewarded late on when Mikel Merino found the net to seemingly rescue a point for the league leaders.
However, the drama was far from over. With just three minutes remaining, Matheus Cunha produced a moment of brilliance, firing home a sublime effort to clinch victory for United and silence the Emirates crowd.
The result dents Arsenal’s title charge at a crucial stage of the season, while Manchester United’s win provides a significant boost as they continue their push up the Premier League table.
