British heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua has shared an emotional message following the tragic loss of his close friends, Latz and Sina, in Nigeria.
In a heartfelt video posted on Instagram, Joshua described the two men as more than friends, calling them brothers, business partners, and housemates who played major roles in his life. He revealed that their deaths had a profound impact on him and completely altered his plans for 2025.
Reflecting on the tragedy, Joshua said the experience reminded him that “God’s the best planner,” acknowledging that the events were unforeseen and deeply painful. He spoke about the strong bond they shared, noting that Latz and Sina consistently supported, protected, and guided him throughout his journey.
Despite the grief, the former world champion expressed determination to continue pursuing the dreams and aspirations they shared, particularly for the sake of their families.
“Even though they may not be here physically, when I pray at night and in the morning, I know spiritually they’re going to aid me,” Joshua said. He also thanked people around the world for the overwhelming show of love and support following the tragedy.
In the caption accompanying the post, Anthony Joshua expressed gratitude to first responders, doctors, and hospital staff who were involved, specifically mentioning Dr. Ogunyankin, Dr. Tosin Majekodunmi, and Dr. Ninalowo of Lagoon Hospital, Ikoyi.
He also acknowledged the support of prominent individuals and leaders, including Femi Otedola, Aliko Dangote, Senator Daisy Danjuma, the Governors of Lagos and Ogun States, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
