Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tope Adenibuyan (Teddy A) has spoken out to shut down rumours alleging that he physically abuses his wife, Bamike Olawunmi (Bambam), describing the claims as completely false.
Speaking during a recent interview, Teddy A addressed the long-running speculation head-on, saying the abuse narrative was built on assumptions rather than facts.
“They said I was beating my wife,” he said. “It’s not true.”
According to the reality TV star, many people are quick to draw conclusions about marriages they know nothing about, especially when the couple is constantly in the public eye. He acknowledged that disagreements and misunderstandings exist in every marriage but firmly denied that violence has ever been part of his relationship.
Teddy A explained that online speculation often grows from incomplete information and social media narratives, with outsiders interpreting situations without context.
He also spoke about the pressure celebrities face, noting that once a story takes shape online, it is often repeated as truth—even when those involved have never confirmed it.
Teddy A and Bambam met during the Big Brother Naija 2018 edition, where their on-screen connection blossomed into a real-life relationship. They got engaged in 2019 and later held both a traditional wedding in Ogun State and a white wedding in Dubai the same year.
Now parents to two children, the couple have remained one of BBNaija’s most talked-about love stories. Bambam has previously opened up about her struggles with postpartum depression, while both partners have consistently described their marriage as one that requires communication, patience, and intentional effort.
With this latest clarification, Teddy A is making it clear that while marriage is not without challenges, the abuse rumours surrounding his home are not his story.
