Nottingham Forest have dismissed Sean Dyche after just 114 days in charge, marking their third managerial change of the season.
The decision was confirmed shortly after Wednesday night’s frustrating 0–0 draw with Wolves, a match in which Forest managed 35 shots but failed to find the net. The result capped a three-game winless run and left the club hovering just three points above the relegation zone.
Dyche oversaw 17 matches during his brief tenure. His departure follows earlier sackings of Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou, the latter lasting only 39 days at the City Ground. The rapid turnover underlines the volatility of Forest’s campaign.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis is understood to be dissatisfied with the team’s attacking output relative to the talent available, as well as their continued proximity to the relegation places. The goalless draw against bottom-placed Wolves appeared to be a tipping point.
Forest’s recent form includes:
-
0–0 vs Wolves
-
1–1 vs Crystal Palace
-
1–3 loss to relegation rivals Leeds
With 12 league matches remaining, the club faces a tense run-in. Despite domestic struggles, Forest are still involved in European competition and are scheduled to face Fenerbahce in a Europa League play-off next week.
The decision adds further uncertainty to a season already marked by instability. Attention now turns to who Marinakis will appoint next — and whether that choice can finally provide the consistency Forest desperately need.
