Former presidential candidate and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peter Obi, has called on voters to remain vigilant during the 2027 general elections, warning against any attempt to manipulate results at polling units.
Obi made the remarks in Akwa Ibom State, where the state’s ObIdient Movement officially defected to the ADC. Addressing supporters at the event, he emphasised the importance of protecting electoral integrity and ensuring that every vote counts.
“In that polling booth in 2027, if they don’t count it, we count the person,” Peter Obi said, underscoring his call for active citizen participation.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the timetable for the 2027 general elections.
According to the schedule, presidential and National Assembly elections will be held on February 20, 2027, while governorship and State House of Assembly elections are slated for March 6, 2027.
