Former Big Brother Naija housemate Cynthia Nwadiora, popularly known as Cee-C, has opened up about why she believes it would be difficult for her to fully survive in Nollywood despite the fame she gained from the reality TV show.
Cee-C, who rose to prominence after finishing as first runner-up behind Miracle Igbokwe in the 2018 Big Brother Naija season, said the sudden fame that comes with the show can actually be a disadvantage.
According to her, the quick transition from being unknown to becoming a public figure makes it difficult to build the relationships needed to thrive in the film industry.
“One of the disadvantages of coming into fame through Big Brother is the fact that it’s quick,” she said.
“You’re nobody today, and then tomorrow you go on the show, and then you come out, and then they know you. You’ve not been able to build relationships you need to survive in the industry.”
The reality TV star explained that actors who rise through the traditional Nollywood path usually spend years building professional networks and industry connections before gaining recognition.
However, many reality TV stars enter the spotlight instantly, without those relationships.
Although Cee-C has appeared in a few film and television projects since leaving the show, she noted that navigating the entertainment industry after reality television can be challenging once the initial attention begins to fade.
Before her rise to fame, Cee-C trained as a lawyer, a profession she studied before entering the entertainment space.
Since her Big Brother Naija appearance, she has remained active in the media space through brand endorsements, public appearances, and television projects.
In 2023, she returned to the reality TV spotlight as one of the contestants on Big Brother Naija All Stars, where she finished in third place before being evicted shortly before the finale.
