Reality TV star Cynthia Nwadiora, popularly known as Cee-C, has opened up about how being branded “arrogant” has negatively impacted her career and public perception.
Speaking on The Echo Room with Teddy A, the former Big Brother Naija housemate said many Nigerians form opinions about her without taking the time to understand her personality.
“As I said, I usually live in Nigeria, where a lot of people follow the bad work. Like if somebody says oh, this person is a bad person, people don’t even wait to experience you,” she explained. “So people don’t actually get to know you. So yeah, a lot of people see my confidence as being arrogant.”
Cee-C added that meeting her in person often changes people’s perception. “I would say something that you cannot meet me in person or experience me as a person, and go home and say I’m arrogant. You would definitely have a change of mindset about me,” she said.
She revealed that the negative label has affected her career prospects. “So it has cost me a lot… you don’t even know me, but that’s what you know, like. When you give me the grace to get to know me, you will not go home feeling that way.”
Since leaving BBNaija in 2018, Cee-C has built a strong online presence and secured several endorsement deals. However, she has occasionally faced reports of conflicts with brands, which many attributed to her perceived attitude.
In recent interviews, she has discussed the challenge of shedding the “BBNaija star” tag, explaining that it often overshadows her work as a lawyer, influencer, and actress.
Cee-C’s revelations shed light on the struggle many reality TV stars face in balancing public perception with their personal and professional growth.
