Dremo has opened up on his decision to leave Davido Music Worldwide, revealing that the label’s management prioritised its CEO, Davido, over other artists.
Speaking in a recent interview with Echo Room, the rapper said the structure of the label limited opportunities for collaboration and growth among its signees.
“I didn’t collaborate with Idowest who was my label mate and fellow rapper because at that time we were all striving to stay afloat in the music industry. Even DMW as a whole didn’t collaborated much, we never had a record label album. The management focused only on Davido,” he said.
Dremo further disclosed that the label did not meet his expectations in terms of financial support and career development.
“The label [DMW] didn’t give me money. It was like a platform. I didn’t get what I wanted from the label,” he said.
He added that the experience ultimately influenced his decision to remain independent, choosing to pursue his career outside the structure of a record label.
