Popular Nigerian social media critic VeryDarkMan has commended officers of the FCT Police Command for helping a mentally unstable woman safely deliver a baby in Kwali Area Council.
Sharing the incident on Instagram, VeryDarkMan explained that the event occurred in the early hours of April 3, 2026, during a routine patrol by officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), who had been deployed across the FCT due to heightened security concerns ahead of Easter celebrations.
According to him, “it happened in the early hours of April 3, 2026, during a routine surveillance operation by officers of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, deployed across the FCT due to heightened security concerns ahead of the Easter celebrations.”
He added, “at about 12:20 a.m., the officers who were on patrol around Kwaita village in Kwali Area Council suddenly heard loud cries coming from the roadside.”
The officers reportedly moved swiftly toward the source of the cries, where they found a mentally unstable woman in active labour.
Confirming the development, the police said they received information about the situation around 12:30 a.m., prompting an immediate response.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, noted that the Officer-in-Charge of the Gender Unit at Kwali Division quickly mobilised with her team to the scene.
The officers assisted the woman and ensured she delivered the baby safely.
Reacting to the incident, VeryDarkMan praised the officers for their compassion and humanity, and also pledged to sponsor the child’s education from primary school through university.
