Controversial Nigerian social media personality Bobrisky has fired back at a troll who allegedly insulted him under a comment section on actress Mercy Aigbe’s Instagram post — and he came with receipts.
The drama started after Bobrisky dropped a friendly comment on Mercy Aigbe’s page, calling her “my hot sister,” a gesture that seemed harmless at first.
However, things quickly escalated when a user identified as molecule256 reportedly replied with an insult, claiming the actress does not associate with people like him.
Not one to let things slide, Bobrisky dug up what appears to be an old direct message from the same individual, dated 2022, where the user allegedly praised him and even requested a meetup, mentioning that he lived in Lekki.
Interestingly, Bobrisky revealed that he never opened or responded to the message at the time — a detail he now believes may have triggered the sudden hostility.
Calling out the behavior, the influencer questioned why people switch from admiration to insults simply because they were ignored.
“This is why I don’t open my Instagram DMs. Is it that people get angry when you don’t reply to their messages, or what?” he wrote.
Clearly irritated, Bobrisky didn’t hold back as he addressed the situation, describing the attack as completely unprovoked.
“I left a comment on my sister’s page, not on yours. Yet you had the audacity to come under my comment on her page and insult me for no reason at all,” he added.
The exchange has since sparked reactions online, with many users weighing in on the trend of online trolling and how quickly admiration can turn into resentment on social media.
For Bobrisky, the incident is yet another reminder of why he keeps his distance from unsolicited messages — and why not every DM gets a reply.
