Bobrisky Sparks Reactions After Criticising Uninvited Guests at AMVCA 2026

Mummy Of Lagos Bobrisky Returns to Instagram

Nigerian social media personality Bobrisky has stirred reactions online after criticizing people who allegedly attended the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards without official invitations.

The annual AMVCA ceremony, organized by Africa Magic, is regarded as one of the continent’s biggest entertainment events, attracting actors, filmmakers, influencers, media personalities, and celebrities from across Africa.

Following the event, Bobrisky took to social media to express frustration over what he described as a growing culture of people attending high-profile events despite not being invited or directly connected to the movie industry.

In his statement, he specifically targeted individuals who allegedly spend heavily on stylists, makeup artists, photographers, and luxury cars just to gain access to the ceremony and appear on the red carpet.

“Now dis one is for those of you that has nothing to do with acting movie, no invitation from AMVCA, you are not part of the nominee yet you book makeup artist, stylist, photographer, hire a car just to attend an event you aren’t invited too,” he wrote.

He further described such behavior as “classless” and urged people to respect invitations and boundaries surrounding exclusive events.

“Honor an invitation not just to branch where you ain’t invited,” he added.

The comments quickly triggered debates across social media platforms.

Some users agreed with Bobrisky’s criticism, arguing that many people attend celebrity events primarily for clout, visibility, and online attention rather than genuine industry participation.

Others, however, defended the culture surrounding major entertainment events, noting that red carpet appearances often create networking opportunities for influencers, aspiring creatives, fashion designers, makeup artists, and content creators.

Many also pointed out that events like the AMVCA have evolved beyond traditional film awards and now function as broader entertainment and fashion spectacles.

The discussion has once again highlighted ongoing conversations around celebrity culture, social relevance, exclusivity, and visibility within Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
