Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Her emergence was confirmed in a statement released on Thursday by her special assistant on media and publicity, Mike Idoko.
According to the statement, party members and supporters participated in an affirmation exercise conducted across all 57 wards within the senatorial district.
The exercise reportedly took place simultaneously in the various wards before the final collation of results at Kahal Cinema in Okene, where party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters gathered.
The statement also noted that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission monitored the process alongside members of the media.
Speaking after the collation of results, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed gratitude to party members and supporters for their continued confidence in her leadership.
“This affirmation is a reflection of the trust and confidence the people of Kogi Central have continued to place in our collective vision for progress, inclusion and development,” she said.
The senator described the turnout across the district as proof of strong democratic participation and unity among party members.
“I am deeply humbled by the turnout across all 57 wards. This is not just about one individual; it is about our people coming together in unity to deepen democracy and build a stronger Kogi Central,” she stated.
Akpoti-Uduaghan also pledged to continue representing the interests of the district while focusing on development and opportunities for residents.
“I accept this responsibility with gratitude and renewed commitment. By the grace of God and with the continued support of our people, we will remain focused on delivering development, justice and opportunities for everyone,” she added.
