“It Hasn’t Reached N200 Million?” — Bolaji Ogunmola Pleads With Fans to Support Ajosepo 2

Actress Bolaji Ogunmola reveals why she doesn't have many friends

Nollywood actress and producer Bolaji Ogunmola has expressed surprise that her latest movie, *Ajosepo 2: The Gathering*, is yet to cross the N200 million mark at the Nigerian box office despite its strong performance since its release.

The actress reacted after FilmOne Entertainment announced that the movie had generated N144 million in ticket sales.

Speaking in a video shared on her Instagram page, Bolaji admitted she expected the film to have surpassed N200 million by now and appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting it in cinemas.

“Concerning Ajosepo, God take our praise. It hasn’t entered N200 million? I was shocked, I won’t lie. Please help me and watch this film, I am begging you,” she said.

In the video’s caption, the filmmaker humorously pleaded with moviegoers to give the film a chance, stressing that she had invested a lot of effort in the project.

“You people, please 🙏, what do you want me to do? I will do it ooo…. I don’t suffer from this film. Please 🙇🏾‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️.

“You don’t have to see the first one to see this one. It’s a complete film on its own and it’s still showing in cinemas nationwide,” she wrote.

Released on May 28, *Ajosepo 2: The Gathering* enjoyed an impressive opening weekend, earning N49.1 million and emerging as one of the top-performing Nollywood releases during its debut.

Since then, the movie has successfully crossed the N100 million milestone, placing it among the notable Nigerian films released in 2026.

Directed by Kayode Kasum and produced by Bolaji Ogunmola, the sequel continues the story of the 2024 hit *Ajosepo*, which followed a family wedding thrown into chaos by hidden secrets, emotional tensions, and unexpected revelations.

The film features a star-studded cast including Timini Egbuson, Toyin Abraham, Mercy Aigbe, Mike Afolarin, Tomike Adeoye, Yemi Solade, Ronke Oshodi Oke, and Odunlade Adekola.

Despite its impressive box office performance so far, Bolaji’s latest appeal suggests she is hoping Ajosepo 2 can achieve an even bigger milestone before leaving cinemas.

With the film still showing nationwide, the actress is counting on fans and moviegoers to help push the sequel closer to the coveted N200 million mark.
