Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright made a grand entrance at the Lagos premiere of her latest film, The Return of Omotara Johnson, arriving in a Lamborghini on Sunday night.
The premiere was held at the Monarchy Event Centre in Lekki on July 5, drawing many of Nollywood’s biggest stars for the highly anticipated event.
Among those in attendance were Toyin Abraham, Funke Akindele, Iyabo Ojo, Timini Egbuson, Samuel Banks, Wumi Toriola, Gabriel Afolayan, Jide Kosoko, Sola Kosoko, Iya Ereko, Yetunde Wunmi, Fali Werepe and Yomi Fash Lanso.
Videos shared on social media captured Bukky Wright stepping out of the luxury vehicle alongside one of her sons before making her way into the venue, where guests and colleagues warmly received her.
The glamorous premiere marks another milestone in the actress’ return to the big screen, following her successful comeback to Nollywood in recent years.
The Return of Omotara Johnson is the sequel to the 2008 Yoruba classic Omotara Johnson, one of Bukky Wright’s most celebrated films. The new instalment follows Omotara Johnson as she confronts the consequences of her past after her son becomes the prime suspect in a murder investigation.
Directed by Adeoluwa Owu and produced by Taiwo Adebayo, the film boasts an impressive cast including Richard Mofe-Damijo, Shaffy Bello, Chidi Mokeme, Ali Nuhu, Timini Egbuson, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Lilian Esoro, Tomi Ojo, David Ojah, Janet Adebayo, Tolulope Asanu, Uzee Usman and Bukky Wright.
Following successful premiere events in Abuja and Lagos, The Return of Omotara Johnson is scheduled to hit cinemas nationwide on July 10, distributed by Nile Entertainment.
