Former Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has responded to critics urging her to leave South Africa, saying she is tired of people telling her where she should live.
The beauty queen, whose residency case is still before South African authorities, reacted after a social media user told her to “go home” to Nigeria.
Adetshina made it clear that the decision is hers to make, replying:
“I said I don’t want to… Ah ah, its it by force?”
She also appealed to people to stop adding to the pressure she is already facing.
“Stop frustrating my life.”
Her comments come as she continues to deal with the legal process surrounding her residency status in South Africa, a matter that has remained unresolved for months.
The controversy began last year after South African authorities questioned how Adetshina obtained her citizenship documents, sparking widespread public debate and intense scrutiny. The backlash eventually led her to withdraw from the Miss South Africa pageant.
She later accepted an invitation to represent Nigeria, where she won the Miss Universe Nigeria title and went on to compete on the international stage.
Despite her success in Nigeria, her residency case in South Africa is still ongoing, and she has indicated that her priority is resolving the legal process rather than responding to constant calls for her to relocate.
