Nigerians have continue to vent their anger towards Commercial Bank, Access Bank over their activities on the accounts of some EndSars protesters.
Access Bank have been trending on social media for the past few hours and amid the
online campaign for customers to boycott the management of the bank sympathised with
#EndSARS protesters for freezing their accounts.
Access Bank had frozen the accounts of at least eight persons involved in the #EndSARS
campaign based on the orders of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The bank’s decision to freeze the accounts was done nearly two weeks before CBN
obtained a court order to do so.
The move subsequently put the bank in a bad light with hundreds of social media influencers
calling on Nigerians to boycott the bank which is Nigeria’s biggest lender.
They argued that Access Bank ought to have been more thorough like Stanbic IBTC, whose
founder, Atedo Peterside, had openly refused to freeze the account of any person without a valid court order.
Despite Access Bank apologising for making such move, youths on micro blogging site,
Twitter, have insisted that they will be shutting down their account.

I was making a transaction at a branch of Access Bank and customers kept coming into the banking hall to close their accounts. Now I understand the apology. https://t.co/yrwPeWQa26

I and my friends successfully closed our account with access bank today not minding the heavy presence of Nigeria police force stationed there for no clear reason, and we did this to show we are against the unjust blocking of account belonging to young hardworking Nigerians…

Why is Access Bank always in the news for evil?
"Access Bank sacks 500 Staff due to COVID19"
"Access bank grants skycraper top for snipers to shoot at EndSARS protesters."
"Access Bank freezes account of #EndSARS protesters"
Zero banking values. Just orange colour and trash.
