Frankly, it’s been one hell of a year and as it finally comes to an end, Google is per usual making sure that the trendiest moments of 2020 don’t get forgotten.
Today, the world’s No 1 search engine released its 2020 Year of Search lists in every category,
from movies and TV shows to weddings and babies.
The most searched people of the year by Nigerians includes music stars, politicians,
actress, sport personalities and some of the most talked about celebs of 2020.
Celebrities caused a search frenzy this year with a number of high-profile controversies coming to light since the beginning of the year.
Number 1 on the list is newly elected American President, Joe Biden who won the presidential election ahead of Donald Trump.
Taking the second spot as the most searched person in Nigeria is Mavins Record signee,
Rema, who have touched souls of Nigerians with his hit music.
Coming in third place is controversial Nigerian singer and songwriter, Naira Marley who was
involved in some controversies during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Number 4 on the list is Rahama Sadau, a Kannywood actor who caused a huge stir in the
country after uploading a picture of herself in a backless gown to celebrate an occasion.
Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown’ winner, Laycon secured the 6th position on the list after his
achievements at the reality show while alleged fraudster Hushpuppi was in 5th position.
Omah Lay was the 8th most searched personalities as Kamala Harris was ahead of
him in a list that saw Maryam Sanda and Chelsea’s Kai Havertz hold 9th and 10th position respectively.
