Newly elected American President Joe Biden and his vice president, Kamala Harris, have been named TIME Magazine “Person of the year” after their historic victory.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the presidential election after they defeated
incumbent president Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
As Americans await a new era, the magazine has recognized their achievements.
Joe Biden will be inaugurated as the 46th president on January 20, 2021,
and Kamala Harris will be starting her duty as the vice president on that same day.
Kamala Harris’s victory at the election represents a handful of firsts: She will be the first woman, the first Black woman, the first Indian-American woman, and the first daughter of immigrants to be sworn in as vice president.
