Cryptocurrency Ban: Comedian Mr Macaroni fumes at Central Bank decision

Popular actor and comedian, Debo Macaroni has joined the leagues of top personalities in the country to react to the recent order made by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on cryptocurrency.

The apex bank on Friday, February 5, released a statement announcing the ban on cryptocurrency and bitcoin businesses in the country and this has sparked reactions from Nigerians.

According to million of Nigerians the apex bank is not moving with the trend.

Mr Macaroni who has never been shy in sharing his opinion on any subject matter some hours ago took to his official Twitter account to vent out his frustrations.

Taking to his Twitter page, the comic actor wrote: “Out of all the problems we are facing in Nigeria, how is banning cryptocurrency the solution?? For goodness sake!!! A lot of Nigerians are largely invested in cryptocurrency. How do you make decisions like this without considering the effect it will have on the people??”

He further stated that Nigeria will be left behind after emerging as the second behind the US in cryptocurrency trading.

“Just recently, Nigeria was ranked second in the Bitcoin market after the U.S!!! Just look at what our Government is doing to a very powerful and promising industry!!! The world is going to move on and leave this country far behind”
