Nigerian Human Rights activist and founder of the popular news media outlet, Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore has been allegedly shot by police during a protest in Abuja.
According to eyewitness reports, Sowore was among a number of protesters who were protesting in the Capital City this Morning.
Early photos emerging from the scene showed an injured Sowore, though LailasNews could not independently confirm the news as at the time of filing the report.
A Facebook Live video by Sanyaaolu Juwon which was monitored by our reporter showed the protesters had gathered around Unity Fountain in Abuja, as the Police locked the gate on them.
The protesters continued to chant at the security men before a squabble ensued and the Live video was ended abruptly.
Images and reports would later emerge on social media that Omoyele Sowore had been shot by a female officer.
