Popular singer and singer Waje has taken to social media to cry out over the trending rqpe cases across the country, noting that Nigerian women are not safe.
Nigerians have been faced with reports of molestation and rqpes in the past few days with the notable one being veteran actor, Baba Ijesha who was accused of defiling a 14-years-old girl.
A certain girl named Iniubong Umoren was also found dead, days after she was declared missing having gone for a job interview. According to police report, the young girl was raped before she was killed.
With Nigerians still mourning her death, Waje via a post on her Twitter account noted that enough is enough concerning the rampant rqpe case and molestation.
The beautiful screen diva noted that it’s high time Nigeria wake up from its slumber, adding that silence can be loud especially when it’s about cases like gender-based violence.
She tweeted:
Silence can be loud especially when it’s about gender based violence, child molestation, rape, and any crime committed again your fellow being. Wake up Nigeria, your women are not safe and soon it will come to your doorstep. Demand justice! Enough is enough
