Official: Lionel Messi is no longer a player of FC Barcelona

For the first time since 2000, Lionel Messi doesn’t have a contract at Barcelona. His current deal lapsed at midnight in Spain, and no extension has yet been announced.

Barcelona are interested in the services of Lionel ‘the GOAT’ Messi (34). The Argentina international is currently a free agent.

Barça and Koeman think he’d be a fantastic addition to the team. Messi has won the Ballon d’Or award six times, more than any player in history.

President Laporta: “Messi? We want him to stay and Leo wants to stay, everything is on track. We have the issue of financial fair play, we are in the process of finding the best solution for both parties.”
