Veteran American rapper, singer and songwriter, Nicki Minaj has revealed why she was not present at the 2021 Met Gala that was attended by the biggest names in all walks of life.

The 2021 edition Met Gala referred to as the fashion world’s Oscar Night was hosted earlier this morning and top personalities in all walks of life caught the eye of fans.

Rihanna caught the eye of fans with her grand appearance but with fans expecting Nicki Minaj to come dish out another fashion goal, the mother of one couldn’t make it.


Questioned about why she missed the show, Nicki Minaj stated that because COVID-19 vaccination is required for guests to attend this year’s Met Gala, she would not be in attendance.

She tweeted:




“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met”. “If I get vaccinated it won’t [be] for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. Nicki Minaj in one of her tweets also revealed that she contracted the virus while preparing for Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards.

“I was prepping for vmas then i shot a video & guess who got COVID?” she said. “Do u know what it is not to be able to kiss or hold your tiny baby for over a week? A baby who is only used to his mama? ‘Get vaccinated’ Drake had just told me he got covid w|THE VACCINE tho,” she tweeted.

The 2021 Met Gala, was co-hosted by Billie Eilish, Timothée Chalamet, Amanda Gorman and Naomi Osaka.
