President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that a group of Nigerians is out to destabilize the country and that all Nigerians should rise up and fight back.
On Tuesday, April 19, he addressed an Iftar dinner with governors, ministers, and heads of agencies.
“We have the land, the resources, and the people,” says the narrator. But I don’t understand why people will allow themselves to be successfully destabilized in their own nation,” he remarked.
Despite the current security challenges, the President maintained that Nigeria would succeed. He went on to say that he had benefited from free, fair, and legitimate elections and that technology and the Permanent Voters Card would make it impossible for anyone to claim millions of votes in the country again.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, spoke on behalf of all the governors present and praised President Buhari for exhibiting endurance and determination during a critical period in Nigeria’s history.
“We have a leader who is not distracted by temporary setbacks but remains committed to the rejuvenation of our country, and we, the governors, ministers, and heads of government agencies, are similarly committed to establishing a better Nigeria under your watch,” he said.
