The new Super Eagles coach’s pay has been revealed.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved the appointment of Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro as the Super Eagles’ new coach, according to Sporting Sun.
Peseiro would reportedly be paid $50,000 each month, according to the article.
Peseiro will be assisted by two full-time assistants, a fitness coach, and a matching reader when he takes over the Super Eagles’ coaching duties.
The 62-year-old is anticipated to reach an agreement with the NFF in the coming days.
Salisu Yusuf, Finidi George, and Usman Abdalla will be his assistants.
Following Nigeria’s inability to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year after losing to Ghana’s Black Stars, Augustine Eguavoen stood down as temporary manager of the Super Eagles, according to the NFF.
After firing Gernot Rohr, the NFF designated Peseiro as the Super Eagles’ substantive head coach in December 2021.
After the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon, Peseiro was slated to take over as coach of the Nigerian national team.
Following the Super Eagles’ elimination from the AFCON, Eguavoen was granted the post on an interim basis.
